Congrats on the new cockatiel! I think it might be the best thing for the little bird. I'm sure that you are doing your level best to make sure his/her environment is better than the last one, with more room, food , toys, time and loving attention. I hope your friend is safe and in a place where she won't have to deal with the likes of her ex - often, the abuser will take out aggressions on the pets if they can't get to the human target, so she was right in placing the bird with a trusted friend.

pics finally added, couldnt find my card reader for my camera so I go out and buy a new one and whats the 1st thing I find when cleaning out my travel bag? the card reader so now I have two... any who I updated the 1st post of pics of BeeBee of the 1st day I took her in.

I feel for your friend - no one should have to go through an experience like that. But I'm happy for your friend that she left and happy for BeeBee that she now has a safe and calm home.
