Not-so Gourmet Biscuits

I just wanted to let everyone know about my experiences with "Biscotti Gourmet Biscuits." I picked a bag up at Petland, and my birds love them. Apparently Biscotti prides in being a healthy bird snack, to be mixed in with your birds everyday diet.

However much my birds love them- i've noticed that they change their poop. For a while I was panicking at why Aree's droppings were bright blue, and Indy's hot pink.

Care to guess?

I read the back and saw all the preservatives, artifical colors and flavors, and i'm now going to throw my bag out. I just wanted to warn everyone not to buy this product.

I NEVER feed Jasmine anything that looks artificially colored.

I still need to get some Birdie Bread....maybe if you come to the Naples Bird Fair, Gini!

That's why I never recommend feeding colored pellets to birds. It really alters their droppings and can hide problems.

For a short moment, though, it must have been a bit more pleasing to the eye than the boring green/brown stuff found on the bottom of our cages!

I think it's always a good idea to read the ingredients before you buy.
