HI, I am a new bird owner in need of help for a cockatiel!

Just looking for a place to talk about our new family member, Petey the cockatiel We have had him for 7 months, but I rescued him from a home that found him in a tree in their driveway, he was taken care of in there home, but ignored. I brought him home and we adore him, yet I don't know what I am doing and we want more for him and us! Any help is so appreciated!
