The pictures never really do them justice. You really need to take one of him in the bright sunlight to make him dazzle. Are they African or S. American? They look so much like a conure, but I thought they were old world birds.

African...they are members of the poicephalus family along with Senegals, Meyers, Brown Headed, Red-Bellied and Cape (or whatever they are being called right now) parrots.
There are three subspecies: Greater, Lesser and Black Winged. My guys are Lessers, which are the most common in captivity.
