Tried something new...raisins in box

OK, so I read somewhere that a good forage toy was a small box of raisins.....so I found the tiniest of boxes, stuck it in the bars of Pitas cage, and he destroyed the box....hated the raisins, loved the box, little raisins all over the floor...now I have a huge bag of tiny boxes of raisins...LOL

anyone else try this?

when I tried something with raisins in it I was promptly told to be careful as store bought raisins have sulfur in them. Fortunately my fids don't care for raisins anyway. Grapes on the other hand.................

Not only that but also preservatives... I suggest if you can, to make your own raisins from a health food store.... Gave some today to my birds, but it was from a Crazy Corn meal... The flavor is Rainforest Rice Puddin, and has brown rice, rolled corn, bananas, green peas, raisins, pistachio nuts, dates, allspice. I've tried another one before, I think it was Noodles n Nuts.... mmm-mmm did it smell good!!! but that's off topic!

hmm. i did not know that about raisins! casper adores them. she gets one or two a day as a treat. but this would make a great thing for her to forage for...

i will check the labels very carefully. we do have a dehydrator but i just haven't had any time lately to set it up!
