Bird safe kitchen stuff

When we get our new place, we're going to probably have Jasmine's cage in the living room which is directly by the kitchen.

I am wondering if Crock Pots are bird safe and free of fumes?

Are all metal pans without non-stick bird safe, or do they have to be stainless steel?

Are electric stove/ovens safe to use as long as you don't self-clean them?

How about toaster ovens?

Electric tea kettle that doesn't have Teflon?

Any risks in these things?

I will probably still always open the windows and sliding doors out of habit, but I just want to be the safest I can be!

We use our crock pot all the time, and is safe. I also have an electric tea kettle that I use all the time and is safe for birds. The toaster oven shouldn't be a problem as long as it doesn't over heat or have teflon.

Great guys, thanks for your replies! This gives me a bit of peace of mind.

Jim, Zoey's probably watching you cook in hopes of a tidbit to snack on!

go stainless steel on the pans... the other ones sometimes have aluminum alloys which is not the best thing in the world (i can't remember exactly why but i could look that up)

toaster - just make sure it works properly (lol - don't laugh... sometimes those things just go crazy and overheat and you burn/vaporize the bread)
