Any outgoing fids here???

Just curious - I have three mini macaws, and when introduced to strangers, the Yellow collared acts terrified, the Illiger's tries to bite, and only the Hahns will step up and give kiss kiss noises (but only to bird people). Plus, I know from my time spent at the Gabriel Foundation that with most birds I have to foster a relationship with them before I can handle. Maybe parrots just aren't outgoing, but does anyone have a bird that embraces everyone?

Mr Peabody, the little sun conure will go to anyone, but only as long as there is hubby or myself in the room. He won't step up, but he'll fly to a shoulder and talk for a couple minutes.
He'll warn with a beep it they try to pet before he's ready though.

My meyers absolutely LOVES new people. When we visited our local birdclub last sunday, she emediately flew off and landed on a strange guys shoulder. And then she flew to another, and another..... If there is someone new in the room she wants to be with that person the most. Anyone can pet her. But she wont step up if she is on the shoulder and the person doesnt show her that he/she is not afraid of her. But if she is on a table or something like that she will step up regardless.

valo is not a big fan of people... he'll bite first, and then ask questions ... but he can warm up with most of them if they are willing to work with him for a while... and for that it's best if i'm not around... otherwise he only wants to sit on my shoulder and be extra sweet showing off his "well-trained-human-pet"
one friend of mine he straight forward attacks... he can't stand that guy for unknown reasons, but he goes in attack mode as soon as the guys walks through the door (nicely puffed up feathers around the neck, and ready to jump if there's a chance to bite a piece of skin out)

Doyle loves everyone! He will let anyone hold him and just isn't afraid of anything. Prinny and Danny are not big fans of new people.

maybe it's bird specific and not species - whether or not they will be outgoing. hmm...

Zoey doesn't care for strangers anymore. She was ok with them until she was about a year old. Now its only me.
Benji thinks the same about everyone. Look but don't touch!!
Sophie will step up for anyone once she checks you out.

My CAG is pretty open to strangers. He'll step up and be friendly towards strangers but he won't actively seek them out for interaction.

A lot of the time, Jazzy steps up from the perch for anybody then just sits there on their finger and checks them out. Sometimes I'll have to have her step up from my own hand, with new men.

I think she so readily steps up because she knows she always gets showered with compliments and smiles!

I have socialized her from day one that I brought her home with people around the apartment complex and then people at the Aviary. I think that's helped a ton.
