Hey I was just gonna say. If you are scared about the owner being mad about plucking just draft up a contract. Make her sign it and photo copy it so you both have a copy. I don;t know much about birds, but I sure hope this is an idea.

Nancy you are the best person I know with birds and they just love you and you love them. I think you are at your best when you are taking care of someone elses bird. You get the excitement of a new bird with out the long term care. I think you should go for it.

I have not read all the answers here, but I am gathering you are worried the boarded bird might learn to pluck from your Ekkie. If that is the only reservation, then as long as the owner is aware, really aware, that this might be a problem, then I say go ahead. But if there are other things bothering you, like the risk of disease, more work, the possible unsettling of the your birds, then I would not do it. You do not have to, you have the right to say "no" and not feel any guilt about it.
