when i was a child, a hundred years ago, on evening, close to dark, there was aloud bang on the side of the house. we went out to see what happened, and there was a dead phesant laying there. some years later, i was driving between brighton CO and derby CO (country) got a phesant on the windshild made a nice crack, but didnt go all the way through.
