Funky Kind of Tude

Alright, Rosabella is my loving eight month Timneh Grey who has decided this Monday to not want to do step-ups to come out of my cage. Monday it was the worse with her as she really refused but the rest of the week has been so-so. My mom and dad took her out this week with no problems. I had to that day take her down from the top of the cage...she made a run for it. My dad left the door open and well she's not allowed up there. Monday it was at the point I had to do the pearch step-ups to get her out of the cage. She was grey't with that. And she's been more willing with less skin loss this time but she'll still display.

I was the one who had to take her down. She's been pretty quiet with me too these past few days. I just wonder if she's sulking still or well hit one of those grey stages of. I must push mommy's patience just a little bit! She's fine once she's out. I'm starting to wonder a little cage protectiveness too with this time of the year being Grey season. But she's too young for the hormonal surge. I had a busy work schedule this month and she's been spending a little more time in the cage too so I wonder if it's that or that I had to get her down from the top of the cage 'sulking' bit.

Well, I don't know about hormonal stuff since Tully came to us after his "Childhood", but I do know when he gets his beak bent out of shape over something he lets me know it. Sulking isn't the half of it. He's a plucker and is finally letting some feather grow back, but the other day I had to deal with another sick kid so he didn't get all the "Mommie attention" that he's used to getting, so Yesterday when I went to take him out of his cage he looked at me and then plucked a chest feather that had just opened up. I gasped and then he actually turned his back to me!! Little turd. He got me where it hurt I'll tell you that. They are such sensitive birds that they have to show you how much you hurt their feelings. So I think Rosabella is just making you pay for being such a "mean Mommie". Isn't it just adorable when they act like teen aged children?

She's back to normal and I was curious to see how she would behave up on the dome while being outside of the cage. The funny thing is....she played on the side of the cage next to me instead of up on top of it! Of course she's on overload! She's upside down, using my finger to help balance her self, and I hung a pair of toys outside so she had a blast. She only hung out up top for a little bit to look at tv and that was it....

Maybe it's not as bad. She went to bed with no fuss and grinded her beak into contentment.
