Air purifier- ok?

We have the Nikken (sp?) air purifiers, which I love! They simulate nature's air and always make the house feel like a good purifier should- clear. I have yet to run it in the bird room because it has the ion thing. It emits the negative ions. Now, if it simulates natural air, is it safe?
Here is the link to it:

Usually the ozone free models are pretty safe for birds.

Thanks for the link! The thing I am so confused about is the fact that ionizers are said to emit ozone, but this one has one that doesn't. Hmmm, I will try to see if I can get some consumer reports...

NO, this air purifier is not safe. You can't use any Ionizers around birds. Ozone is a different thing. Ozone is emitted by alot of units it's a matter of quality. But Ionizers are an optional thing.

I know of birds who plucked from Ionizers. It puts stuff in the air that sits on their bodies.

There was at least one previous thread about this about a month or so ago.
