Thanks, I love them so much.

As for the oak stand I found it at a local store and they cut me a deal. The manzanite stand I got for free from a friend and we added all the branches to it, the bottom is unfinished but we just put a plastic runner underneath to catch any excess mess. The birds all love checking them out and playing on the during the day.

These are really beautiful! I noticed that you have the more 'sensitive' birds (I would never use sensitive to describe a macaw. These are the frat boys of the parrot kingdom...) Can you tell us a bit on each of their personalities? How do they get along? I was very very close to getting a goffins instead of a Hahns macaw, and was looking at the male ekkie as well. But I was picked by a Hahns - heehee!

Oh I'd love to hear all about their personalities too! You have such a beautiful flock. It looks like Captain Crunch and James Bond are buddies. Are they they only ones that get along?

Thank you. They are a great bunch and they make every day enjoyable. As for their personalities they are all so different.

The Quaker "Captain Crunch" is like the mayor. He has to always see what is going on and he always preens the conure and senegal. He also LOVES to laugh. He also is best friends with our blue crown conure "James Bond" (band#007 - couldn't resist)

Bond is the class clown and loves to be the center of attention. Infact the quaker is learning his commands we give him and says them so that he will snore, dance, shake his head and laugh. He is not at all cuddly but enjoys hanging out and is always trying to learn new things. He is also currently our biggest talker. He keeps trying to tell our dogs to step up.

Our Senegal "Sassy" is very quiet and sweet. She is my husbands bird. She will hang out with me during the day, but when he walks in the door, she will whistle for him and she is very snuggly with him. She also lets us know when he is coming down the street. She hears his car and lets out a screech. The dogs even know it now and come running. Infact she has a different one when another car comes by. We are at the end of a dead end, so there is not much traffic, but she is my watch bird.

Our Goffins "Frankie" was completely unplanned. A friend of mine who is a breeder had rescued him from a home where after he bit them once they were afraid to handle him. He was 2 years old and was not social and very scared. I had seem him a few times, and he was not taking to my friend. I was standing by his cage one day when he came over and sat right next to me and started talking. We couldn't belive it. I gave him treats and he would reach out and hold my finger. He never ran away from me or was aggresive. My husband and i went home, talked about it, set up a cage for him and started working with him. It took 4 months for him to go to my husband, but now they play together all the time. After he got home and comfortable he came up on the top of his cage and said I love you. I am so glad he is happy now. He is in perpetual motion and talks about himself all day, but he loves to snuggle in the evening and I am glad his is a part of our family.

Our SI Eclectus "Swoop" is our baby. We had a female that passed away last year and she was incredible. We decided we woud love to have another ekkie, but we would have to see if one picked us. However long it took. Then we met swoop and he was a charmer. He is still very young, but he loves to eat and loves to be with us. He also loves to go to any perch where he can look out the window. Last week he looked at me and said "mommy" and my heart melted. He also makes cooking for everyone very rewarding. Because of all of them my husband and I now eat so much better.

Sorry to ramble on, but they are all so special to me. Thank you all for being so welcoming and nice. I really am enjoying being part of this group.

Captain, Bond and Sassy all get along, and they will even let Swoop on their tree, but Frankie is usually with me or myhusband or on his own tree. On occassion he will hang out in my husbands lap while he handles the other birds, but we keep a very close eye on him. Frankie doesn't want to get to close to the others, but wants to be near enough that he is not left out.
