Talking Anyone see the lovebird on Ellen?

She was really cute. She had a video online, and Ellen liked it so much, she asked the bird and her owner (a young girl, maybe 12 years old) to come on the show. She had stage fright and didn't do the trick, but they showed the video.

She takes a piece of paper, tears off a thin strip, and then sticks it under her wing, like she is making herself new feathers and then sticking them in. It was pretty funny.

Oh, I don't have Lovebirds and I never have, so I had no idea what it was. She is an only bird, wonder who she is trying to breed with?

It's normal for lovebirds to strip paper and tuck it in their back feathers, specifically peachface lovebirds.... its how they gather nesting material for their nests....

Males too can also strip and tuck paper under their feathers, hwoever on a majority, most males are too clumsy/messy to do so properly...

Having raised many peachface lovebirds I can tell you I've never seen a male tuck anything in his feathers. They will shred paper, but are not proficient like hens.
ROYJOY, I'd consider getting your bird DNA'd or waiting until he lays an egg. You stated the peachface of the pair is shredding and tucking, what type of lovebird is the other?
