How hard could it be?

Ok so i recently found a quaker for sale for $175, he can talk and he is pretty nice but could use some work. So i really want him but i have a couple how hard could/will it be questions.
1- How hard will it be to tame him down (he is 2)?
2- How hard will it be to take care of him?
3- How hard could it be to have another bird when i already have one that is pretty demanding?
That last one doesnt really make sense but i mean like since i already have one demanding bird, will it really be that hard to add another to my list? Like take this for example. I make samba some fruits or veggies daily.............how hard could/will it be to just double the portions and make enough for samba and bob (quaker)?...............not that hard if you ask me. Anyways........i need any advice and suggestions on anything to do with quakers, getting another bird, blah blah blah! Thanks
btw here is bob

With time, care and patience most- if not all- birds can be tamed down, especially one as young as 2. If he's had a good life so far, with human contact and love etc, it'll be even easier. You're right about doubling the proportions, it'll take only a little longer but if it's the same kind it'll be pretty easy- I have to prepare seed for my tiels and nectar for my lory, water and veg for both!
With the last one, I guess it's up to you personally. Do you want another demanding bird in your life? You'll get alot of joy out of watching the two play and having twice the affection. I know how you feel cause I'd love another parrot, but Ash is so demanding and bonded that I think she'd go crazy! But every bird is different. Just make sure the owner will take her back if it doesn't go right? Have a bit of a trial run? (if you do this you WILL fall in love and keep bob anyway!) Have fun!

In my experience, when adding a second bird the first six weeks are the roughest. There will be increased noise in the home and perhaps some jealousy.Just remember to give Samba "preffered bird" status and after 3 to 4 weeks of quarantine, introduce them on neutral ground.Sure you'll have double the mess and expense but double the fun and rewards too!Bob sounds like a great choice for a second bird.
Tena

PS My blue crown was a 15 plus year old wild caught ,plucked mess that lunged and ran from me .After 6 months he comes to me,steps up to me and my 10 year old son and is a delight to be around. The first six weeks though.......I almost gave up on him about a hundred times.I'm so glad we made it through the rough spots.

well thanks everyone!!! im not 100% positive if i am going to get bob yet. Samba is so attached to me and i am very worried he will be very very jealous and end up hating me and bob................. i just dont know what to do......................would a sun conure and a quaker get along, like generally, dont be specific like saying "it depends on the bird" cause i know that but i just mean generally, do they have a shot at being friends?

Geez!! $175 for an older bird that is not completely tame?? thats expensive!! i sell handfed tame babies for $125 at the most

quakers can be easy to tame...when i was alot younger, one of my neighbors had a pair, she gave me one, and kept the other one. i had that bird tamed in less than a week. it didnt bite or lunge at me, and it was never cage territorial, i think i got lucky with that one though :)

I agree that is some price you can get a tame quaker in Wisconsin for 125 mostly. If you really search maybe a baby for 100. start fresh?

They are (for greens) between $150-$250 here from breeders but that's Australian pricing, should be cheaper in the states.
