Bird leg bands?

Does anyone know how to decipher these bands? I have a severe macaw that has a band with 05 and 07 on it, I am trying to find out his age.

Put the numbers in contect with whatever else is on the band. Tell me in order or post a pic.

Merlin's band says:

05
FL
S7 (this is actually sideways under the FL)

07 (this is off on it's own on the otherside of the band from the rest)

Thanks

i think he is an 07 hatch. he was born in FL, and he was prob the 5th baby born, either to a particular pair, or just the 5th baby that was born that year that uses that size leg band. but, i also know that some breeders dont band their babies in the order in which they hatched, ive seen some breeders just order, say, 100 leg bands all for babies that hatch in 2007, and they just pick out random bands whenever its time to band their babies. we band our babies in hatch order here :)

Do all birds come banded? Cos Matches never had a band? All the other birds were but Matches...matches was from a different breeder from the others and it was the only one in the clutch and the last baby for the season/year. Also my tiel never had a band either....is that weird?

not at all....its optional for every breeder to use leg bands. some like to band their babies, and others dont. out of our 3 pets, pretty girl is the only one who has a closed band. poopy has never had one, and sweetpea had an open band that was too big (i think) and it got all crusty with hardened food, how, i have NO idea, she never steps in her food or picks food up with her feet LOL, but we just restrained her and opened up her band wtih some pliers and took it off. we are actually thinking about getting all our birds microchipped...but it would have to be gradual cause we cant afford to do ALL the birds at once LOL.

Yeah microchipping would be good...i think most of the native bird pets here get leg bands otherwise you wouldnt know if they were wild or not if they got out.
