DNA sexing?
hi, I'v found some sites where you can send in either a blood sample or a feather sample for DNA sexing.... but doesn anyone know the most affordable most acurate? what method have you guys found works well? and cheapest? and do you recomend doing it at all? thanks!

I use this all the time and allot of us do. I always reccommend it that way you know whaen problems can arise what to look for esp in females with egg binding that can occur. If they are sick and its a male its at least one thing you can rule out.
Avian Services Center: DNA sexing and disease testing for all species of birds. I do blood as my birds Hated the feather pulling. I just clipped a nail a little too short and they send you the cards for free. You can always pull feathers but I got so much of a scream from that i do it on nails now and ever get so much as a squalk so to me it has to be better.

It cost AUS$15 here- you may have to convert that :D But I found that a reasonable price. I'm going to get Ash sexed soon so I can finally be sure she's a girl! (she's so much smaller and leaner than all the other younger lorikeets I've seen in petshops, so I'm guessing she's a girl)
