Thumbs up Martha Stewart & Parrots...thanx Martha

Martha Stewart today had 2 segments about Parrots on her show today.

1 was with Marc Morrone who had his bird store broken into and had over 100 birds taken....I'm sure most of you remember that story. The other was again with Marc, and he brought his minagerie of baby's including several different Parrots, and they discussed what Parrots need to be a good healthy pet.

I'm really proud of her for bringing some education on Parrots to her audiance.

Here is the link...

The Martha Stewart Show

on the right hand side you will see pictures of her with a TOO & her with a bunch, click on them to watch the segments.

Thanks for sharing! I found it to be excellent. So much good information was given in a short amount of time. I didn't learn anything new but I did hear a lot of things that people should know before making the decision to buy a bird

Marc Morrone is really nice and very knowledgeable. Me and my wife bought both our TAG and RB2 from him. I remember watching his public access show a decade (or so) ago. Long before Martha Stewart noticed and decided to produce it. I always thought it was very dedicated and caring of him to produce a public access show for so many years for nothing in return. It was the same format that he's always used-all the animals together on a table. It's too bad they took it off of Fox on Saturday mornings. Now, I believe it's only on cable in certain areas-that's what he told me anyway. I thought it was a great concept. Teaching people (especially children) to better care for their pets. I would have loved "Petkeeping with Marc Morrone" as a child watching Sat. morning cartoons. I love what he says at the end of each show....."children who are kind to animals grow up to be kind to people" or something similar. So true.

His store is great. I get my birds groomed there and I've met and played with all of the animals that he brings on the Martha Stewart show. Other than his personal pets, the animals that he takes onto the show are for sale there.

Yes. I've known him for years and I talk to him about every other week. Me and my wife go into his store just to say hello. I've been going to his store for about 10 years now. After me and my wife bought our TAG from him we became better acquainted. He's always there-every day from opening til' closing. He's very hard working too, always busy-either with customers or hand feeding the baby birds (which he does himself). Anytime you walk into "Parrots of the World" you'll see him there.

He's got alot of personal exotic pets, some of which he keeps at the store. A twenty year old bat, owls, a falcon, a Hy, a Raven (that talks), some birds that look like peacocks, in addition to other parrots of course, his dogs, etc. This is just off the top of my head.

I love what he said about birds learning to accept "random events". Even coming out if the cage to play. I think it is so true. Lots of people are so into routine, but I think the random event is so much better. That way if something comes up that changes the routine, its no big deal. Thanks for posting this. I always love his segments and shows.

Marc Morrone is fantastic and I wish his show would come back on regularly. I live in NH and if anyone knows how I can see him, please put it here. He has the most wonderful pets of all kinds, and he is so good to them all. Please let me know how I can see him. And the Martha Stewart special is so good. Marc Morrone should be on more often!!

I definitely agree with the randomness idea too! I know of too many parrots that will throw a fit when their routine is messed up. Even if means they stay in their cage one morning instead coming out for an hr like usual. All parrots need to know how to deal with change.
