construction with birds in the house?

Have any of you done home remodeling while having a bird in the house? My husband and I have been considering purchasing a home as an investment and doing the necessary updates to "flip" it. It would be a great opportunity for my husband and I to make some money, or possibly fall in love with the house and keep it and be out of apartments forever! I have been wondering though if anyone here has dealt with the dust and chemicals that will be present in a home under construction and has any advice on how to handle that.

actually you dont want a bird around that at all. The dust particles in the air will be breathed in by the bird, and it can cause Aspergillosis.
the fumes and chemicals can do serious damage to their respiratory system(lungs, airsacs)

My sister bought a house and did the same thing. I offered to take her lovebird, M2, and Red Lored in while they were doing it. They kindly declined, and all the birds died within in two weeks of starting the project.
Necropsy showed debris in the lungs and air sacs.

Oh Lisa, how terrible!
YWallpaper- don't risk it! . The fumes and such are harmful to people, let alone super sensative birds.
