Smile Its Official! I am looking for a new Bird!

I think my living situation is lil more stable now and the enviroment is ideal. As of the last roughly what year and half I haven't had a significant pet due to of living situations ie moving alittle too often, apartments, roomates and etc and knowing this ahead of time when Franky was assasinated by my roomates cat I told myself to wait till the situation was good. Its not fair to any pet bird, dog etc if they are in changing, unstable situation or just isn't ideal.l I think the time is right again.

With that said I have been poking around pet shops, bird shows, and etc looking at various types of birds checking out there personalities and etc... to see what I want, and what would be a good fit for my lifestyle.

Right now I have narrowed it down to:

1. Conure (still debating on which type) but sun conure, and green cheek are up there.

2. Cockatiel , well I know them and grew up with them and had as many as 12 at one point with a outdoor aviary I built when i was 15 and several breeding pairs.

3. African grey - long shot but still in the picture.

So if you know of any good breeders I would like to go with a hand fed baby, and or maybe a possible rehome. But I am looking for the Right bird for me.

The Grey is what you want if you are even considering one. It may be a bit of a trip for you but for that special pet I would look here. Whitewind Farm in Silverton Or. Excellent birds at a excellent value. Nancy White 503-873-3273

I would think there are good breeders in your neck of the woods Kevin?
There are two wonderful Grey breeders up here. The one I got Sophie from, http://www.foxfeatherfarm.com/ and I will have to look for the other who is a Grey only breeder.

If you are going for a bird I would say that the grey is the better choice. Honestly, I have owned a conure and they are LOUD!!

Can I suggest that you adopt one? You may find a grey or other wonderful bird needing a home at a reputable rescue.........
