Finally got Paulie's new cage

I got the money I wanted for my birthday, and being the nice momma I am, I bought my Paulie a new cage and some accessories. I went to Bird Paradise on Sunday, and got the goods.

Here it is, it's huge.

It has been a good one so far,

I feel like I got a very good deal
cage is sturdy and well built, plenty of room for my bird

Oh, that is a really good price. I paid $130 for it, but I used a 30% off coupon, the original price was $190, so $109 is a great price.

Btw, Buddy is very cute.

Well, I got the official approval from Paulie today. Since I built the cage a couple days ago, he hadn't been using it like I had hoped. But first of all, it was a new scary cage, and second he hadn't been getting his full 13.5 hours of sleep needed for a non-grumpy p-let. Well today, all of a sudden in the afternoon, he started jumping around. It was so cute, he was running around on the bottom, and jumping from perch to perch and singing. He was also flying around, which he couldn't do in the old cage.

Also, when I was feeding him this morning, he accidentally got out. Usually, this would be a tragedy with the old cage, because it only had one small guillotine style door that we couldn't keep open, so we had to catch him (he isn't tame). But today I just let him stay out, and after a little while, he went back in on his own. Which is good news for him, because that means he can come out and play now!

Oh, and also yesterday I had the parakeets out, and I had his cage open. Well, he didn't come out, but they went in for a visit. There was millet in there, so they jumped right in, lol. I thought Paulie would be upset, but he was less upset than he is when they would climb on the outside of his old cage. There was plenty of room for the three of them, and they had a nice 20 minute visit. If p-lets weren't unpredictable around other birds, I'd let them all live in there. The parakeets cage is much smaller than the new cage, so they are jealous and can't wait to get their own big cage.
