A parrotlet and a budgie?

So ever since I got Paulie his new cage, I have been opening his door when I let the budgies out. Well, him and Meadow seem to have bonded. Paulie will peck at Skye when he tries to go near them, and many times I find Paulie and Meadow in Paulie's cage, and Skye either on the outside of the cage, on the play gym, or in the budgies cage. This morning Meadow and Paulie were in Paulie's cage, and Skye was in the budgie cage when I had to leave for school, so I just shut the doors and let them be.

My questions are, is this ok? If Meadow chooses to live with Paulie, should I let them? What about Skye, will he be upset? When I got home he was sitting by the cage doing his contact call, and as soon as I opened their doors, he flew over to Paulie's cage.

What should I do?

As I was typing, this is where they were, but then Meadow and Skye went back into their cage, and Paulie was on top chirping at them, and I eventually shooed him back to his cage, so for now everyone is where they belong.

I don't think I would house a Parrotlet with a Budgie but there are "odd" couples out there. As far as the threesome goes if it were me I would probably be finding a buddy for the one left out. I like the number 4..:-)

I don't know about getting another bird. I think 3 is more than enough. It is unfortunate that it leaves one out though.
