I too would have have to say Cockatoo as well. I go and visit max at the pet store every week and love him to pieces, but His screaming is worse than my IRN's and never thought another bird could be worse than her screams. But I could tolerate that over the maintence and their needs. I have read alot of the good and alot of the bad things. And it would be just my luck I'd make mine depressed and he'd become a plucker and I couldn't deal with that knowing it was something I done. So, for all of you wonderful TOO owners, I will say, they are my favorite bird from their looks, and I admire that you can handle their emotional needs, so give them all big kiss from the crazy lady in GA. But one day,,,,,I will have a Gray or Amazon. I would love a Macaw, but....I am not ready for a baby that size yet.

For me I would never want a smaller bird. I think they are noisier than the bigger birds. Don't get me wrong my guys can scream with the best of them and it is LOUD at my house at times. But that is just it - AT TIMES. They do the morning screams - SOMETIMES - and the evening screams - SOMETIMES -, that I can live with. There are even times I put on loud music and get them going to help get it out of them before bed. But every smaller bird I have been around is constant noise all the time. I could not live with that 24/7.

I would never seek out a bird that is approaching endangerment as I feel strongly that these birds belong in the competent hands of zoos who will breed them.Give me something common and abundant....I can't take the pressure of carrying on the genepool.
