That happens all the time on CL...it is sad and the only way to prevent it is to throughly screen your adopters

I'm sorry this happened to your FID but you should of went to a more reliable
source and screened the person gotten vet referrance and etc.This is happening all over the world and you just have be suspicious of everyone.

They are there all the time...

Someone had a BEAUTIFUL B&G macaw they wanted to trade for landscaping or a deck. Another time there was a CAG for trade for a working car. So sad. More than likely, these birds were bought from an usespecting person only to be resold for much more or traded...

It is sad, but very true that folks look at their birds simply as "property"-----

it makes me so mad to see poor bird go though this. I wish I could all give them loving forever homes. Here my birds are treated at family members. some times I wish there was laws or permits to own them! Im going to hate to see years for now you will see parrot in dog and cat shelters with just as meny parrots at dogs and cats! personally thats where I see things going if this contunes
