Golden Conures or Queen of Bavaria are very rare, and if you do find one they are very expensive. I believe they are also on the endangered list, and to purchase one you need permits....anyway they are very beautiful...here's a site I found on them

Queen of Bavaria Conure, Golden Conure, Golden Parrot, Aratinga guarouba, Guaruba guarouba

Very rare but also beautiful! I recently heard of one being sold for around $1000. Don't know where or how pet quality it was, but the owner had to get permits and all sorts of things. It took them about 2 months after purchasing the bird before they could bring it home because of all the leagal issues.

Here is what I found on them:

Pretty good site. There isn't very much avalible on them as pets and they are very hard to obtain.

I have done research into the process of purchasing a golden conure. It takes about two-three months and $100 in permit fees to be able to purchase one. I really need to know where to get one. I have looked at the sites that you all have posted, thanks!!!!

Another thing I learned is you have to have permits to purchase across the state lines.

It will probably be difficult to find the breeder. I would google search "North Carolina Bird (or parrot) Breeders" and go from there. They may be hard to find as they breed a rare bird and probably don't just advertise anywhere.

There may be breeders in Florida, however I don't know of any breeders personally.

From my understanding they are excellent pets! I'll see if I can find anyone who knows of a breeder...

Feathers Bird Store in Marlborough, MA had two but they are closed now so I guess you couldn't get any info from them. I do believe someone in MA bred them, though.

One breeder of Goldens (or so someone said)... You can try contacting them, however they may not be cheap...

Parrot Mountain and Gardens in Pigeon Forge, TN (865) 774-1749

Least they are only 35 miles from you!

Parrot Mountain

I first saw the Golden Conure at Parrot Mountain, where I have season passes and regularly play with the three they have out, but they want $4,000 for one. I previously saw Golden Conures for sale for $1,500 in North Carolina and was really looking to find them again through that breeder. The Golden Counures are superb birds. They are very friendly, curious, loving, and sweet birds. All the ones we have ever see have been fantastically wonderful.
