IF I could even get my birds in one of those suits it would be shredded in all of about 10 minutes. Which makes me wonder how long the bunny ears on the too lasted.

I tried the flight suit on Sparky. But it was a tad snug cuz he is big. So I could tell he was uncomfortable and never made him wear it again.

Had it fit? Yes I would have used it for outings as long as he wasn't objecting.

Thanx to all of you that commented so far. When I first saw this I just had to see what others thought of it.

I guess humiliation counts as abuse......right?......lol. For me, I just don't know about this. I'm not a believer in fashion for animals. If they can survive in the wild without clothing....well you know. I think about how beautiful birds are and how majestic they look in the wild then I see these pictures.....I think to myself, "what are we doing to them," "is this what captive life is coming to for them."

Well anyway, I had to see if I was crazy or if there are others who think this a bit too over the top. I don't take it too seriously so I'm glad people are enjoying the link. Now...it's getting late and I have to get my birds into their pajamas. Goodnight.

.................

ok, I do have to add, I have made halloween costumes for my guys. Please forgive me as I have no human kids to dress up and take out.
My guys also have winter jackets. The reason being I didnt have a garage at my old house, and it was easier to transport them in my coat, into a heated car where their carrier was located. Without them being wrapped in something, my coats took some bad hits along with parts of my body
Having them wrapped in thier own coats made it much easier and less damage.
now the real abuse in that is that their coats matched mine

I see your point, yet the attached could be considered "abuse" although he was posing for the dang pic!!! I know, it's a cat, but still...same concept applies

I think it is cute! Maxie LOVES being wrapped up in things. When I put her harness on she squats and pants. LOL Where is the little bunny tail on the Easter costume????

As long as the animal is not stressed by it, then no... It's not abuse. I had a dog that "loved" his clothes. He would even pick out his own shirts to wear and we mainly did if for safety when I took him to the barn. He was a small black terrier mix and we put brightly colored shirts so we could keep an eye out while he was playing.

Although I agree with one of the folks on here, may be more of an issue for the fashion police.

Abuse?
no.
In poor taste?
Some of those color patterns, I'd say quite possibly....
But Abuse?
No, not even close.

I don't like the costume suits.....
but IMHO, regular flightsuits are great!
In fact, I'd go so far as to say they are one of the best inventions for pet birds that I've seen in the last 20 years.
I've used one every day with Gracie. We started working with her and the suit on the visits we made to the store before we'd even brought Grace home.

I do wish they'd stop with the crazy colors patterns though.

They should start making the suits in the most common parrot color combos for that size range.
I think we all agree that the Bird is the object to be viewed.....
To that end, I believe the suits would be better if they matched the plumage and didn't distract the eye from the Bird's natural beauty.

That's why Grace has 2 suits - both are the horizontal wide rainbow color pattern. Blue at the chest & reds at the butt. There is yellow, (a color not found in the feathers of a WCP) but it's on the top of the "poop pouch" and ends up hidden against the underside of her tail feathers.
The green ends up positioned along her back between her wings.
For the most part, they blend in really well with Grace's natural colors

BTW, ladies -I'd avoid calling the fashion cops!
Or next spring you might end up being forced to wear that tiny bit fabric the designers call the latest thing....
Despite the fact that from the moment you saw it on that supermodel you'd sworn you'd personally never be caught dead in public in anything even remotely resembling it.

i have to say i wouldnt want to put it on mine but the feather saver sounds like a good idea. If they cant reach to pluck it might deter them but who knows. Thankfully none of my birds are pluckers (except the doves but they're roosting)
