True Love?

I went to the Hobby Lobby today & there was a Petsco next door so I went in to look at the birds. There was a few. But there was a Nanday Conure in there just screaming his head off. The girl walked over, opened the cage door & said, there you go. Are you happy now, go see her! I asked the girl what she meant & she said that the Nanday is in love with one of the Love Birds. I stood there & watched the 2. It was the cutest thing. The Nanday sat there preening the little love bird, they were feeding each other, etc. It was like they were a bonded pair. I asked her wasn't they affraid of them getting hurt & she said they have been like that for months. If they are not together, they scream! The little love bird would head butt the Nanday if he stopped preening her & she would hold her head down for him to start again. It was cute. I would be scared the Nanday would hurt the little one cause of the size difference. What do ya'll think? Crystal

I have heard about this happening. Not very common; the only thing I have seen it happen to is a CAG and eclectus!

That is so sweet. I had a Nanday and he was an absolute love. In fact my Cag and him had a little something going. Not quite as lovey as the duo you describe. But to this day Sparky still mimics Chico. Even though he went to a new home over 2 years ago.

I think I went into that same Petco you are talking about. Didn't come to mind but they had a Nanday who was screaming his head off. My word, I thought the poor guy was going to explode! I'll bet it was the same one, lol. I just never knew he was in love!

dont worry about the size difference, love birds are tough, and will take on a bird of any size. my loves dont take any crap from my sun, but most of the time they get along.

Tielmama I never use my kitchen table. The only thing its being used for now is to hold the wood & the saw. Which is bad because its a $700 table. I never buy to much food because my room mate would eat it all. The fids & I usually eat on the coffee table. I just gotta find someone to help me move the table to my grandma's garage cause it weighs a ton. Crystal
