Angry Mean Sennie Sister

Today I had Lukey the Sennie and Whiteboy the U2 outside after their showers. Lukey was in a cage because her feathers are growing. Whiteboy was on the swingset preening. Whiteboy decided to walk on top of Lukey's cage, and she reached up and grabbed one of his toes and wouldn't let go! It seemed like an eternity, but it was really probably 2 seconds. He was screaming and I was trying to help. She let go and he looked at me as if I had done that to him. He looked like, "What did you do THAT for?!" He wouldn't step up for me right away because he thought I did it, I think. He did step up then, and I took him off the cage and checked his foot. No visible damage. He got a whole lot of sympathy from me and he ate that up. I was calling him poor baby and saying he had a mean sister. He loved that part. He was leaning his face against my face and doing his Too whimper of glee. I'm always worried that he will hurt her, and now she hurt him! I'll be more careful from now on. Poor baby.

Whiteboy is lucky. I've read too many stories of one bird walking on top of another bird's cage and having a toe or more bitten off. You're very luck it wasn't Whiteboy biting Lukey's toe.

Poor baby. I'm always worried about that with my guys. Expecially when Nalah sneaks on Bonita's cage. Cause Bonita will bite Nalahs toes & then Nalah gets mad & tries to bite back. WHich could be very bad. Thats why I can't leave Nalah alone, she can't be trusted. Crystal

Wow your lucky that's all that happened.I have a Senegal named Sydney 10 years old.It can't be trusted with my other birds.Years ago he killed a few Cockatiels as well as a Pionus. He stays in the birdroom and some how got out of his cage and was able to get to the others.I don't trust him alone with any of my birds. So I deal with him one on one. When they are out together he flies right for the Macaws and they can cause serious harm to each other.I plan on moving the rest of the smaller birds upstairs.

Sennies are fearless! Today I had Lukey outside again in her cage. My little lab mix innocently went to check Lukey by sniffing. Lukey was on the other side of the cage on a perch. She looked at the dog like she couldn't believe the dog had the nerve to be there. Since the dog didn't leave right away, Lukey RAN across her perch with her head down in a charge position with her beak open. Lilly, the dog took off running!

I don't know how I missed this!!! Poor Whiteboy!!! Maxie gives him kisses on his little toes to make them all better. Awwwww......

It's funny, but my other birds pick on Maxie and she is afraid of them. Them Too's are LOVERS, not fighters!!!
