Just thought I would share some of the funnies going on here:

"Wait for me Daddy!"

Harley has made is clear from the beginning that my dad is her most favorite person in the world. Yes, she loves me, but there's that special thing they share that shows how much she loves hime. Well, most mornings the birds are out on their play perches while I'm serving breakfast. This morning, however, they were on their cages hanging out while I made the morning meal. My dad usually goes over to her, tells her good morning or gives her some love or something like that. Well, he was running a little late today and with Harley being on her cage, didn't get a chance to.

She would NOT have this, lol! She flew off her cage (she's got her wings trimmed so more glides) ran into the kitchen, big feet moving as fast as they could, trying to get him to notice her. It was adorable! I wish I had a video camera with me, it was priceless!!!

Sunday evening. Silent, everybody's getting to bed, including the birds. Well, I was upstairs, reading (clueless, lol). Suddenly, the poodles start barking. Now, this isn't uncommon. Echo has mastered all three of their barks so perfectly, we are all going around saying "Shhhhh" when it is actually him. Well, my mom hears someone downstairs saying "Shhhhh, Shhhhh" to the dogs. Thinking it was me and wondering why I am not taking them out, she comes downstairs. Turns out, it was Echo telling them to be quiet!

But, the story is not over!

My mom lets the poodles out, puts them away and head back up to bed. A few minutes later, she hears them barking again. It's one, two at a time. As you can probably imagine, this is really starting to bug her. She just let them out, right? She goes downstairs and sees that the poodles are asleep. She looks in Echo's cage and there he is, in his sleeping corner, pretending to be asleep and barking!

*Now, if I can only teach him to say "I'm coming" every morning when my parents are wanting me to wake up...*

LOL. That sounds to cute. My SUn Conure has learned how to bark but I can tell it her. She only does it when the dogs are going though. Thanks for sharing. Crystal

Is that a hint? Yes, I would make the videos, if you waned to see them a year later, lol! I need a new video camera- one that actually plugs up to the computer and I can learn how to use... Hmmm... there's an electronics shop next door to the bird store

Yes, nonbird people don't know what they are missing! I am so happy I have found you guys... I think all of my non bird friends were getting tired of hearing these priceless stories. *Sigh* I wish everyone knew what owning a bird is like, but, then there's us very special people who do

LOL i hear you on that one... most my friends (except for gayla of course) roll their eyes at me when i start the "birdie-talk"
one of my friends is real patient with me - and as a "reward" i spill all the bird stuff on him all the time LOL

having birds in your life is priceless - and the people who see me with valo a lot realize that

Birds to me are as perfect as they get! You can brag about them all you want to your birdie-friends, and then hint to the non-bird family about which bird is your next 'dream bird', lol!
