Red face New Addition to our Flock!

We went to an Animal Hospital that's somewhat local today- and ended up coming home with a Lilac Crowned Amazon! Not only that, we'll be picking up a Nanday at the end of the week!

We were referred to this place by the couple that had sold me one of their cages- they said I'd fall in love, and so I stole my husband and we drove over and this little LCA was smittened by my man! His name is "Chili," we're not sure if we're going to change it... but he seems fairly young, the people there only had him for a little over a week and he's progressed from being a bit cage bound to stepping up onto a roped perch. He still has some funny issues, but he's learning quickly! You can imagine the surprise when he said hello:)

He has made some progression today- he stepped up on my husband!!! >.< He's sleeping now, and I'll definitely be getting more pics posted. I'm way too excited to get the Nanday, he's so gentle and sweet... and I'm sure my little Gir will want to be his best friend too lol

Take care everyone!

hehehe those Greencheeks are haaaaard to resist! I love the ones with the weird teal tint to 'em! They're hard to find too! There's something about the greencheeks though, they look like they're up to no good, master plotters maybe lol

Yeah most of the ones i have seen dont have this bluish tint on the back of their heads...so cute though! There were two there i wanted to take but ahh i resisted...i know the next bird i will get is a green cheek conure but when they are shoved right infront of your face its like "ahhh retreat before you get sucked in and they take your soul!!"...Lol...bit dramatic.

Oh and by the way, since you already have cuddly birds, an alex wont try and steal your cuddles lol, not very cuddly birds but very smart and just awesome! I highly recommend an alexandrine. Their only downside is they arent very cuddly but everything else is great...so long as they have stuff to chew lol.
