We have a new grey at **********

At last, the famous Miss Cleo has finally joined us here at **********. She arrived around 6 this evening complete with cage, playstand and all of her toys and foods. She is currently wearing her "fluffy" down outfit and has decided that her silver grey "winter wear" isn't appropriate for now. I think its something like wearing white shoes after labor day..I believe she is 3 years old and is a DNA'd female CAG.

Anyway, just I as I had remembered, she is a little darling. She's never been away from home before, so she's confused, but not neurotic. She actually joined me in a bowl of black cherry ice cream tonight, literallly (LOL).

Here's her situation: she is owned by a single, 40ish CPA and has been pulling outer feathers and shredding her wings for awhile. She has lost considerably more since I saw her in the fall. No real bald spots, but she's working on it. He has just sold his home, is having it fumigated for termites this very weekend and doesn't have a new home yet. He's moving in with a former girlfriend. Our plan is to rehab her and get her in good feather and hopefully reunite them. However, if she comes that far and still pulls feathers once returned, then she will need a home. I will state this for the record: Bruce really wants Will and I to take her. He's not comfortable with any other home, at least not now. Will surprised me and didn't flat out say "no" to that prospect, so I could well wind up with her permanently. Its just too soon to know.

If however she isn't happy here, I won't add to her stress. Bruce will simply have to explore other options. Greys are different from other parrots. They really need to be courted. Unlike the macaws who can be bribed, you have to win the hearts of greys.

I'll take some photos tomorrow so that you can follow her progress. I think she's gonna do just fine. I already really like this little girl. She is kissing me already. Smart!

THE OUTLAW
