Hi,
Well I am considering adopting an african grey............ that some people can no longer keep. I was just wondering how african greys do with umbrella cockatoos??? One thing that I think is a plus anyway is they are both dust producing birds so I don't have to be as parnoid............ Also, the african grey is for sure a female, but Triton has not been DNA sexed I just go by the eyes and if I am correct she is also a female......... Anyway I will update everyone on the specifics of her when I get info. back!!

I have a grey and B&G. We were mainly concerned that the grey would go crazy about the noise factor. I know too's tend to get loud as well. Echo has never had a problem with the noise. She's always behaved and doesn't have any issues. We also think we have 2 females. This hasn't really been a problem, but know when they hit sexual maturity that it will get very hormonal. Some people are able to deal and some aren't. This may be the case with this grey.
Also be prepared to buy a new cage because the current one may be too small. One thing I do like about my grey is that she isn't destructive. I buy her tons of toys that typically last her for months. They do like variety, so differnt toys is a must. I try to get Echo to use all of her cage. There are about 6 perches in her cgae of various materials. Dowels aren't my favorite thing to use, though the one I have has been sanded to be more natural. Rope, cholla, etc are best.
