Thumbs up Shamrock day 2... long with pics

Well this has been a loooong and busy day....

Was woken up at 7AM buy microwave sound and squeaks ..semi quiet.. coming from my front room...

Shamrock had decided it was time to wake up.. even with front drapes closed and cage covered..

Do NOT want to think of the time or volume of the wakeup.. if drapes had not been closed or cage covered...

After stumbling to coffe pot and turning it on.. went and uncovered Shamrock's cage..then Snow Flake's cage and turned the lights and radio on in tiel room..

Had this bright idea.. that poped into head.. from post someone made yesterday.. got one of the organic oranges that had bought the day before.. and gave Shammrock a quarter of one for his breakfast.. and sat down to computer with first cuppa coffee...

After woke up some.. called my fav pet store (where I got SnowFlake) and asked if knew of anyone to clip Shamrocks wings for me.. he said he did..

I was handling Shamrock.. and stroking he neck.. and he started purring for me.. I almost cried.. it touched me so much...

Went and spent time with each of the tiels...... and FINNALY Old Man woke up...

So after Old man woke up ... we loaded up on wing clipping expidition...and to purchase more "stuff" for Shamrock...

Definately found out that Shamrock is a womans bird.. and does NOT care for men... and hates gloves even more...

I got a pair of scissors .. new from shelf.. and I had brought my own towel.. just in case...

The clipping was an "interesting experiance" for all parties concerned...

After 30 min of trying to get Shamrock to let him touch him.. the store owner.. put on the bird gloves and told me to get the towel out....

Shamrock went balistic as soon as saw the gloves... yipee...

He toweled him.... and had me hold head while he clipped wings.. they were already partially clipped but not enough or enough flights....

After I let go of head.. Shamrock bit the snot out of him... and even thru the glove made purple mark/bruse...

I was told definately an adult Alex.. and the larges one this man has seen and he has been handling birds for over 20 years...

To prove a point about how strong Shamrock's beak is.. gave him a brazil nut in shell.. 8 seconds later.. bird eating nut..

Was there for about another 30 min getting stuff.. and during that time.. the owners daughter came in.. and went to talking with Shamrock.. and he started talking right back at her.. and flirting.. proving that he like women...

When we got home.. gave him a bit of cockatiel fruit/veggie treat.. and a couple of toys.. while started washing the food cups and scrubbin natural perch for his cage...

He had a blast.. attacking and swinging from the one Angela thinks looks like a man.....

After having scrubbed.. soaked in GSE.. and baked the branches.. Old Man.. put the screw/bolts in .. and we have new perchs...

Put Shamrock back in the travel cage.. and proceeded to start cage cleaning and scrubbing cage...after taking EVERYTHING out of it...

Of course AFTER I was finished.. with the FIRST of many cleanings of this nasty cage.. got my Bird Paradise package.. with the Pet Focus concentrate in it... (one step disenfectant germicidal detergant and deoderant)

But the cage is as clean as I could get it in house.. will take outside tomorrow.. and scrub again.... LOL

But here is Shamrock.. in a cleaner cage..... with new toys, crock and natural perchs..

He just finished about 1/3 cup Kitchen Sink... and is happily beak grinding right now...

And this parront is tired...but content with happy bird tonight....

Shamrock had a very busy day! He is so pretty. I bet it's fun hearing him talk. He might be thinking he died and went to heaven at your house.

LOL Suz, I'm telling you, your poor old man is gonna get attacked and chewed up if you don't remove the boy looking toy Especially if he already dislikes males.

I look forward to hearing what day 3 will bring.
