Cool Shamrock.. day 3.. life slowing down here..

Shamrock is NOT a happy fid today... at least he is not happy with me...

He is not very noisey today.. and has a major tude.. figured out last night.. that he could no longer fly.. (due to the clip but can coast to the ground without a hard crash landing) right after we changed his cage around majorly with the perchs and new dishs...

So just letting him settle today... be a chow fid and play with toys..
Here he is with part of his breakfast.. of 1/8 large organic navel orange and 1/4 of an organic green apple ..

I tried to get him to step up .. right after he finished the orange.. but he hissed.. just like one of the tiels.. eyes pinned and nipped about as sharp as a good tiel nibble.. so I left him allone for awhile..

His mod had NOT improved any later.. so the shower that I was going to attempt today in the bathroom got changed to a mist bottle bath... since he would NOT step up and gave me sharper nips in warning the second time I tried today.... but did not break skin.. to let me know that he just wants to be left alone.. and I listened to the warning.....
Enjoying the bath...

And wet birdy pics...

Was busy preeaning for about an hour after bath... and is now happily muching away again.. on the seed pellet mix... and I will be giving him a fresh veggie dinner shortly...

So day 3.. settling in.. and first bath here....

Shamrock's world has have alot of drastic changes in surrounding and diet.. and so has he cage (new perchs, dishs and toys) in the two previous day.. so am planning of giving him some time to settle in and get use to the new routine.. before any more changes at this point.. and don't plan on pushing him and his comfort level for now..

Just letting him get use to his new life here and get to know me.. for the time being...

Looks like he enjoyed his bath!!! Gotta say, I know that alex hiss quite well! At least the alex I know, he'll hiss but he wont bite, nibble, not even mouth you. Of course I've always ignored the hisses and just brought him out anyway (since I doubt he has much actual human interaction). Afterwards, I'd give him a pistachio nut which is probably the only thing he gets to eat other than his 3-D pet products parrot food... course he's pretty cage bound and if he can see his cage he tries to get to it... poor thing can't even fly.

I'm quite thankful that you were able to give this alex a home, and before he started any real behavioral problems!
