Bought new cage for Skye
Well I took 3 of my kids to Rockhampton yesterday and while there I had planned to buy a brand new cage for Skye. it was going to be exactly the same as the one she is in now, just new and Bo would have gone back into the old cage (she is or was in an older one I have had for about 20 years). Anyway, the "warehouse" did not have any in stock, so I did a search and found a little out of the way shop that I did not even know existed before yesterday. They had a few parrot cages and one really big one for sale. It is second hand I think she had her macaws or at least one in it. He had $450.00 on it then dropped it to $300.00 and said I could have it for $250.00. I snapped it up. It has a few minor problems, like the tray the birds walk on and the waste falls to the next tray - that is missing, so Skye has about 8 cms extra from top to bottom. It is 81cm long, 132cm high, (would be 120cm high with the grate for the waste to fall through) and 56cm wide (that is the living space, not legs included). The top of the cage opens up but the lock is missing, so I have attached some of her toys around the top and now she will not be able to open it. Bo loves her new cage and Skye loves her new cage. Today while Rhianna was dressing Caillean to get ready to go into town, she thought I had called her, but I hadn't it was Skye calling Rhianna like when I am upset with her. She thought it was pretty cool when she realised it was not me but Skye.
