2horse~ Sure thing. Hope your pet store gets some in stock. I know about high costs of shipping as I have a friend in Australia and wow, is it expensive to mail something, however small!

Buddy adores his happy hut, he's had it for almost 1 year. I check it regularly and although I have my concerns I wouldn't take it away. He never ever pulls on it, never chews on it, and wouldn't think of leaving droppings; that's his sanctuary and he treats it with respect. It's funny because he'll chew on just about everything if I were to let him, but in the year I've owned his hut, I've never seen any threads out of place.
I tried replacing it with one that's a bit lighter, it's cotton on the outside and fleece inside with a thin plastic sheet sewn into the bottom. He tolorated it but refused to sleep in it. After a couple days I put his happy hut back because I could see he was tired and cranky. Luckily he's back to his old self now, I'll still try to ween him into the lighter one, especially this time of year, but for now I'll humor him at bedtime.

Milihandra~ That's interesting. I think the norm is that they do treat their Huts with respect and won't destroy them. It's like a favorite stuffed animal for a human, perhaps. I was thinking of trying to replicate a Happy Hut out of safer material but if there's no cause (Sunny hasn't been chewing on his Hut), why mess with what appears to be perfection?

It is sometimes pretty hot here now that summer is underway and while Sunny won't enter his Hut if his cage is outside, he sometimes snuggles into it when the air conditioner comes on.
