My Parrotlet Tommaso wants what I have

Just thought I would share a few photos of Tommaso this morning enjoying a little bit of my cereal. I think he's reading the box of cereal too. Not real sure though, but he might be concerned about his weight. I prepare Tommaso's breakfast (vegetables) in the morning, but the minute I pour my cereal, (no milk) he gets so excited and goes right to my bowl. Do any of you have pictures to share of your fids enjoying a meal that once belonged to you, but your fid had to have it?

ah I wish I had pictures of it, but soon after I got my old bird (Jean does this too) I eat a LOT of pasta and had a fresh bowl sitting out on the table, turned my back for a minute to get something to drink, he ran off of his play stand and when I turned back around he had his head buried in my noodles, flinging them around and eating them and for a moment I let him because I had no idea why he thought my lunch was something you not only bathe in but you eat....needless to say he got to finish that bowl and I got to bathe him afterwards XD

sowilu - I will always think of that boy band, Menudo, when I see menudo on a menu ;)

Are parrots popular pets in Mexico? I'd imagine that they would be with some species being native their or in nearby countries...

LOL

I think so my grandmother rescue one from a man who was selling fledgings (baby birds spll ???) for only 100 pesos that is about $10 USA. I think he was an amazon that was cage free during the day. He could talk, sing, and dance and he would fly to the top of trees and when he could not get back down he would scream my grandmothers name for her to come for him. They rescued him one time when he did that because some people were claiming it was theirs but it was just a lie. I wish I could have meet this fella he sounded pretty interested when my uncle was telling me about him. Also clients that come to my dad's store tell me of how some birds that were once pets are let free or escape and they come together in flocks and stay on power lines and cuse, whistle, and talk to people that are walking by. Alot of people are into smuggling them in and out of the country. I don't think amazons are native to Mx (if they are please correct me) so I don't know how she got hers. Alot were once wild parrots or others were babies from wild paronts. I will have to do some research next time my mom calls the family. I know my uncle has a cockatiel his name is Tappy but that is all I know.

It's difficult to eat anything in this household without some kind of taste test from the budgies

Great pictures! I love to see the thieves in action. I have thieves too, but no pictures.
