Baby Hummingbirds..Pictures

The nest is just inside the entranceway of my brother-in-law's apartment complex. This is a very busy place.

The nest is in a silk tree and only about 3 1/2 or 4 foot off the ground. I took these about an hour ago.

The one standing tried flying...got a few feet and fluttered down to the ground. I put him/her back in the nest.

Are they cute, or what?! It is a strange place because of the humans being so close, but at least they're covered from rain. I bet the mama will show them the way out when they learn to fly. Good pictures!

How does the momma fly in and out to bring food to the babies? Is there a doorman?

The lobby picture is facing the front..behind where I was standing is a large open doorway which opens to the apartment pool area, gardens & apartments..so momma bird can fly in and out at will.

My goodness! What great pictures! How small are the babies? (Can you compare their size with an everyday object?)

The one I replaced in the nest would fit in the bowl of a teaspoon quite easily.

They have both left the nest, so I'm going to go over some time this week and measure the nest.

Thank you, but the credit should go to the great subjects.
