Fids - a reflection of ourselves?

So I was wondering what you all thought about this. Since our birds are so intuned with our emotions, could our moods be reflected in them? Are we seeing a bit of ourselves in our Fids moods?

It seems when I'm having an off day, Pita won't settle, isn't happy with anything I feed him, doesn't want to play with his toys, and seems to want to be with me more, then when he is, he doesn't want to be with me.

When I am having a good day, he's happy just knowing I am there. He'll spend all day playing, eating, napping in his cage. If I go out on the deck, or upstairs, he's happy to sit on my shoulder and just be where I am.

So it seems to me, that yes, watching our fids moods, then comparing it with the sort of day we are having, is like looking into a mirror.

What do you guys think?

I think all animals can sense mood. They can also sense sickness in their people too. These little guys are always on the ball.

I think you've got something there! I'm pretty stress free since I retired, and the fids seem happier and more friendly than ever before. Aren't they amazing?

i was really sick a couple weeks ago, and really didnt have the energy to take my birds out, just too sick to deal with it. they were very understanding and were very well behaved just staying in the cages, i did treat them to some fruit, that may have helped. thats all the energy i could muster up for them, the were quite while i was trying to get some rest. that helped me recover faster, so i could get back to them. maybe they know this.
