Bringing Baby home!!!!!Finally

For those of you that remember, I am leaving this am to meet Glenda and finally:
BRING BABY HOME!
Her cage is ready, I sprayed it out last nite, lined it with paper, I broke one of the welds by pulling it by the weld while I moved it. Don't do that. Hopefully I Gorilla Glued it back ok.
Her room is all setup....our month long trip outwest was an great adventure and now we are home. I was set to go get her in two weeks. But moved it up.
So....wish us luck!
And thank you Glenda for chosing me,
Mark

Thank you Mark, for being the kind of person you are! I am sure Baby will love it with you!

To everyone else, Baby, Maxie and I made the trip fine. We stopped a Mcdonalds and shared a Mcmuffin. When we met up, Baby instantly bonded with Mark's son. She was a bit scared of the trip, but she did really well. I am sure Maxie helped comfort her. Hope Mark pops in soon to let us know how the rest of the trip went.

Baby is HOME!!
We made it just fine. Yes, my son and Baby hit it off immediatly. He held the cage all the way home and chatted with her.
I noticed that if moved from one side of the cage to the other, she would follow.
She is safely now in her cage at home, in her room watching the rest of the family go about their day. She LOVES that stuff that Glenda has fed her. She ate and drank healthily as soon as we got her in her cage. Her toy collection that Glenda had her (quite nice and extensive I might add) is hung and scattered around her. She appears to be at home, not frightened and we've left her alone for awhile to recoup after her trip. She'll get covered early tonite cause of a long day.
She is a beautiful/happy animal. Fellow board members should all applaude Glenda for rescuing this bird from a hamster cage in a "pet store" and restoring her to the shining animal that she is today.
SAAAALUTE!
Thanks Glenda.....
I'll hollar at ya soon and be posting and sending pictures to ya.
Oh, and that Maxie...folks...she is a hoot. She definatly has the "IT" factor.
Very charasmatic too. She and all the birds are well loved by Glenda and her nome.
Mark

Oh...and she's listening to opera on the XM radio in her room. :)
I read that they liked opera. I'm happy for her that she does...I don't.
I'm gonna work her up to some Billy Joel. haha

No opera ever played in my house. I turned the rock n roll on for us.

Blow her a kiss for us. Remember, she is learning to say "I luv U", so tell it to her often.

I don't know if anyone her knows the mess I pulled that lil bird out of. You do, you talked to some of it. Amy......

Just love her! She deserves it! She is a sweetie!!!!
Did she call for the flock tonight?
My girls were really loud tonight. I think they were trying to call Baby back.

What a great rescue story. I had never heard about how Baby came to be with Glenda. Sounds like she knows she's home.

The pet store I got Baby from was closed by the health department. That should tell you a lot about her care. I traced Baby's owners back as far as I could. I was right, in what I thought.... She was someones baby at one time. Things happen and poor little Baby had a really rough road.

She was stuffed into a hampster cage with no toys, in the corner of a pet store when I found her. She has had a lot of trauma in her life and she is a little shy about new things. Mark knows all about her. I even sent videos.

She will do great and make a loving pet for him. She has come a long way since I got her. I just couldn't give her as much attention as she needed. If by chance it doesn't work with Mark, Baby will come back here. I don't see that happening though. Mark is a great guy!

(Mark....No chickens here, but Baby can call geese really well! Wait until you hear the siren!!!! ROTFL)

Baby is coming along nicely BB folks. She is a very sensitive bird that has trust issues. As soon as I get her trusting me and not so cage bound, I'll take some pix.
She'll do fine. She is very very smart, but has some baggage in life to get over. She's very sweet/affectionate.
We're very happy with her and she appears happy here.
I'll post pix and updates as we go on this journey.
Mark

Bravo to Glenda and Mark. You've both done good deeds and saved a sweet innocent bird. Congratulations, Mark, on your new addition.
