Angry An irritating problem!!!

Hi there mabye I could get some advice, a little while ago Casper was sick, I think she ate something and threw up a couple of times, anyways she did recover, heres my problem, when she was sick I babied her and hand fed her to make sure she was eating and getting enough liquids, well anyways she seems to reverted right back to baby, thats not too bad but the whining, screeching and constant acting like a baby wanting to get fed by hand and yelling for me is getting on my nerves something awful, :eusa_naug as soon as I walk into the room she starts or if she can here me she starts, she wont do it for anyone else in the family only me, how can I stop this behaviour, I have put her in her cage when she starts this, but that has not helped, even covered her cage! I am at a total loss as what to do next, :eusa_wall if anyone can help me I would sure appreciate it!!!! thanks Janet. :icon_mrgr

I have read in a couple of books that the only way to stop screaming is to ignore her. Talk to everyone else in the room and act like she is not there. Even going as far as to tell everyone in the room that there is no bird here. No birds in this room. It may take a while but remember that she sees any reaction to her as a good reaction. So, don't react at all until she stops screaming and behaving as usual, then reward her and tell her how good she is.
It is quite trying at times and hard to not react but you will be happy that you did.
I hope this helps and works for you. maybe some of the real experts will have some advice.

Caspers food intake

Hi Janet,
Is Casper back to eating normally now? I am assuming you are no longer hand feeding him....Keep an eye on the amount of droppings Casper is doing if plenty then you know he is eating adequately and you can ignore the whining and carrying on. If Casper was not checked out by a vet it may be advisable to have him seen by one and make sure there isn't bacteria or excess yeast in the crop.....as this can also cause them to regurgitate and revert to begging and crying. That whining can be terribly nerve wracking - Casper seems to be trying to train you!! LOL

Have you contacted the breeder you got Casper from - perhaps she can give you a few tips on dealing with this behavior.

[quote=Janet and Casper well anyways she seems to reverted right back to baby, [/QUOTE]
