Smile What is best male or female?

When picking a new pet galah cockatoo (hand reared/hand fed babies) which is best male or female? I have a choice of either and I dont know how to decide?
Many Thanks in advance for your advice and personal experiences

males are often the bird of choice as you don't have to worry about egg laying or egg binding, and males are frequently more likely to speak than females, but I do know female 'toos that talk just as well as their male counterparts.

I don't know much about the small 'toos, but I've had an M2 and a U2. In my case, the hormonal female was much more inclined to bite than the male. However, everything I read about them says that, generally speaking, the male cockatoo tends to be much more aggressive at maturity than the female. Often, they'll even kill their intended mate. If you happen to be that substitute "mate" in a male's eyes, he might become very aggressive with you over time.

That said, my adult M2 male was bonded to me, and as gentle a creature as you could ever hope to meet. It was the U2 lady who could be unpredictable, and she had a penchant for piercing human lips and noses....

If you can, spend time with both of them and then pick your favorite. My U2 is a female and is very gentle, talks very well too!

My male U2 is gentle, and he is mature. I haven't had him all his life, so I don't know how his puberty time went. He doesn't speak people, except to try to say Hi to me.
