Talking New DIY beak and nail grinder

Whiteboy found this new invention while perching out on the porch! No toweling needed for nail or beak filing!

That is way to funny. I never thought of anything like that. Wonder if there is any that they shouldn't mess with.

Now that looks like a photo out of the 'wilds'. Is that a piece of limestone?

It is a lot like the stone i use for sharpening my metal tools - maybe you could get a sharpening stone - they come in different coarsenesses & are about that size.

Limestone is fairly porous - did you boil it & do you know where it's been? When i collected rocks for my aquarium i got them from the farm back in the pasture so i knew they'd never seen insecticide or chemical fertilizer.

Beautiful photos & Beautiful bird.

I hope the rock wasn't harmful. I didn't give it to him, he just picked it out of the planter that I stuck his perch in. They were river rocks that we got to landscape a couple of years ago. Actually, I had washed them in the kitchen sink in dishwashing liquid, but I didn't sterilize them. If I was doing it for him on purpose, I would have put more thought into it. He dropped it back in after he was finished with his pedicure.

I think it is a grand idea - just wanted you to revisit the washing part, just in case. I think it's fun to see animals/birds being natural & using their own ingenuity to check stuff out - like in nature. Unless they drop it onto your foot!

Again i am impressed with Whiteboy's beauty.

Glenda- Did she really say that? Does she really pay attention to him on the screen? That is so cute and smart! The other day Whiteboy was on my shoulder while I looked at a cockatiel doing a head bobbing move on a video. He got so excited, I was afraid he was going to holler in my ear, so I moved him. He does seem to enjoy watching Maxie videos too. For her to make comments about the pictures is just out of this world smart. She's an extraordinary creature.
