EXTRA! EXTRA! Whiteboy and Kiki- The rest of the story!

Whiteboy was back in the birdroom today. Kiki was checking him out again, as usual. He was polite, but minded his own business. He preened and perched. I asked him if he wanted to go with me, and he ducked his head like he does when he doesn't want to go. I decided to bring him an avicake, and I put some cheerios down lower to keep the tiels busy.
Then Whiteboy made HIS move!

I flashed the camera which startled both of them. He leaned way over and situated the avicake in the tip of his beak and pushed it toward her again! All the while, he was making a sweet sound that showed his good intentions. This is the sweetest, cutest thing I've ever seen.

Maxie, it's not the way it looks!

If I had put it on video, it would have been even cuter! I stopped him every time I took a pic.

So funny! Silly creatures. :) That's biggest avicake I've ever seen, by the way....

I know, it's just so massive compared to what I'm used to with budgies, etc. :) My budgies even wanted the budgie-sized ones broken in half. :)!!!

I'm very pleased that the old Boy will eat the things. It's the closest thing to pellets that he has accepted in his approx. 20 years of life.

Yes, it was the best I could get my budgies to eat, too. I never successfully converted them to pellets...and I sure tried! They seriously had a thing for wheat grass, which was hilarious to watch, and they loved the cooked meals from Beak Appetit. So, I guess it wasn't so bad. I'd prefer those things to pellets myself, probably!

CforC- I'm so proud of him for being so nice! It may not show in the photos, but it was ALL his idea. He was eating it by holding it in his claw, then he had to put in in his beak just right. Kiki understood the sound he was making, because they both started leaning in at the same time! He is such a gentleman, but in the end, his social skills were lacking a bit. He pushed it toward her and let go, thinking she could hold it in her beak. She couldn't, and it hit the floor.
