If the nails don't bother you, the only consideration is whether they are too long too properly grasp and ungrasp the bars of her cage. (i.e., she needs to easily be able to release her nails from a bar when she opens her froot) From what I understand, the rule of thumb is if Jessica can stand on a flat surface with all parts of her toe flat on the ground without the nail forcing her toe up, it's fine.
From my experience previously I would only caution -- if you do decide to trim her nails -- to do it a tiny bit at a time since it's been so long between clipping. Whenever we went a long time between nail trimmings, we were much more likely to hit the quick. |
