HELP Paradise got attacked by a DOG

Yea she is fine, we are at home now and she is on her play stand just chattering away and she still Loves Jake.. She is talking up a storm right now and a very happy camper. LOL. Since she just got home from a camping trip on the water. Ha Ha.. Thanks to all for your understanding and concern. I made myself really sick with worry last night. I mean actually sick sick, plus the thought that this dog could have killed her. I love these guys sooo much. I never knew I would love birds soo much.

How is your new Conure doing Courtzrocks??? You are going to end up keeping her, you know that... They just take your heart away.

Yeah i think dad is over it. SHe is so cute! last night she took food from my fingers through the cage. Then she took it from my fingers in the cage but she flung herself out so i was chasing her trying to catch her lol. Then took her into the bathroom and she came and hid in my skirt then snuggled in my shirt and was closing her eyes when i scratched her..she wont willingly just sit on me though, she will sit near my leg or in my shirt. This morning she was eating seed out of my hand and actually standing on my hand!! YAY!! She is so cute!! Still hasnt yet bitten me hard.

Sounds like progress to me, I made so much progress with Paradise this trip, she even rode home in the car on my shoulder and wouldnt step up for my husband to leave my shoulder. Now back at home, I am seeing signs of the old paradise... go figure??? I will try again tomorrow. I really think it is Jakes fault, she loves Jake, my husband, newspaper and ladders... I am on the bottom of the list.

We tried to wash her leg this morning and she was having none of it, so she just got the neosporn. My husband is going to take her in the shower tomorrow, she loves showers and that should help cleanse the wound.

Good work with your new baby, sounds like she is making major progress. Bye the way what country are you from? My husband is from England, his Mum lives in Chelthemham.

What if you take her for a shower? Maybe she will like you more? I dunno? Well maybe if you give her treats more than your husband she might like you again. Try training with her away from your husband so she associates being with you with getting treats. I dunno, how is she with the dogs?

She loves the dogs, amazing after the crazy attack dog yesterday. Jake is her favorite and he is a Lab / Shepphard mix, he wouldnt ever hurt her on purpose, but he does have that shepphard in him so we are always watching and he would never ATTACK HER, like the Jack did. I think if he hurt her it would be an accident. Our coon hound is a gentle mother, we had tiny tiny baby bunnies and she would climb in the cage and make sure she didnt step on any of them ( she thought they were her babies ), and our lab is too old to care anymore. She was soo glad to see the dogs, go figure???

Funny thing is I am the one that gives her treats and feeds / waters her and so forth more than my hubby... On the boat she was a totally different bird, but then again Jake didnt come with us... I really think it is Jake, she LOVES JAKE first, then her ladders, then newspaper (she likes to crawl under it and talk to herself, maybe she is reading? LOL..), then my Hubbie, I am last. She does not play with any toys. She is 10 years old, so I dont know.

I think I will try taking her in the shower tomorrow, I will make sure I put the dogs outside first though. any other suggestions, send them my way, because I love her to death and would love to be able to have a better relationship with her, but I cant give the dogs away either.

Lol dont give the dogs away, maybe if she plays nicely with you her reward is to play with jake?

Maybe, if she will play nice with me, I can put her on Jakes neck. She loves to hang on to his collar and go nowhere. Paradise loves it, but Jake is scared to death and does not make any fast moves, but Paradise is in heaven when she gets to sit on his neck. Usually my Hubbie puts her there, maybe I should? Great suggestions. Thanks

At least she is not turned off by our dogs because of her attack yesterday.

Sounds like she's feeling much better! My birdie Ash fluffs up, pins her eyes and growls if the dogs come up to me for attention. If I pat them she'll lunge at them and sometimes bite them on the nose! She's very protective!
On the other hand she play wrestles with my collie Flea- she'll sit between his paws and he'll nudge her with his nose while she rolls on her back and kicks at his nose/ bite at his nose! She doesn't enjoy rides like Paradise does though!
It's so good to hear Paradise is back to normal. I hope her 'wrist' is ok!! Could you find out what she likes about Jake and use that to your advantage perhaps?

I would love to find out what her obsession is with Jake, Lacy our coon hound loves Paradise to death, but Paradise could care less about her. Maybe Jake thinks she is a live toy and Paradise knows she has his attention when ever she wants it? I really don't know what it is. She will attack the dogs or me when it comes to attention with the dogs, depends on who she can get, but never my hubbie??? go figure.

She is doing great, she is in her cage and under her covers and about an hour ago she wasnt asleep yet and she was telling us "you be quiet" I crack up every time I hear her say that.

Sounds like Ash is "one cool bird" Don't worry about her not likeing the "dog rides", Paradise loves them, but Jake could do without them, if you know what I mean.
