Help Identifying Disease
I'm trying to find the name of a disease that killed my grey several years ago. The vet's office was damaged in Katrina and his record was one of the ones lost, and I lost most of his paperwork in the storm as well.
So, here you go. By the way, he was a male Congo African Grey. The disease usually kills by 2 years old, but he lived til 5 because we found it earlier while testing for something else entirely. * Internal organs began to crystallize * Was NOT contagious * Thought to be genetic * No cure because at the time, our Quasi was the first bird ever diagnosed BEFORE the necropsy The only other symptoms were that the sicker he got, the runnier and less healthy his poop was. Any ideas? I think once I see the name I might remember. They THINK birds are born with the disease, but because Quasi was the first one alive for study, they weren't really sure of anything. Other things that may not be related to this disease (he also had a twisted neck): he took 9 months to wean, almost 8 months before he was fully-feathered Intelligence and socialability were in no way affected. Thanks in advance!

Yup, can't think of it, and my googling skills are apparently sub-par. Fortunately it's rare :)
