Any Great Bill Owner's out there?!?

Hello! I am new to BB. I joined yesterday. I am hoping to find more owner's of Great Billed Parrots. I am owned by 2 myself. I also have 2 Quaker's. There are so few of these bird's out there and so little info on them. I am a member of the Tanygnathus Society. Anyway, just wanted to try yet another forum to find other owner's. These bird's are the best! I have read that they are "untouchable", but I have one that will love you up every chance he gets! I have 2 boys, they are almost a year old. I ransomed them from a crappy pet store where they were getting a poor diet, no baths and one of my babie's wings are so mutilated from improper clipping I'm not sure if they will ever grow back. I have no idea where they came from. Their bands are useless. I traced them thru L&M and the breeder listed said he sold off his bird's and bands in 2002 and won't give any more info. Anyway, I am forever grateful to be their Momma, so I guess it worked out! If anyone out there has GB's or knows someone who does, drop me line!!! Thanks to all!

As you probably guessed, I do not own one. I did get a chance to visit with one at one of the parrot shops near me. He was just a few months old but SO sweet. Believe you me: I was mighty tempted... I have done a little bit of reading up on the species but their isn't a lot out there, sadly. I'd certainly love to know more and look forward to reading more about your pair.

I'm so grateful that you were able to bring the GBs into your life. It's a shame they had such a rough start but if your userpic is any indication, they are certainly thriving :)
