Wow! He sure talks a lot, and not just mindless chatter either. That's one smart bird. My parakeet doesn't talk at all, so I am jealous. Yay for Victor!

Yup, what parrotletlover said is true! After the "tsunami prediction" she pretty much lost her faith in Victor. There's no doubt that some of those budgies have amazing talking abilities but I think Victor was putting words in their mouths or ummm...... beaks!

I'm sure the bird hasn't figured out all these things to say on his own, but I was impressed by his vocabulary, considering that my parakeet refuses to speak after all my efforts.

It was a little eerie to listen to him after a while...

I have absolutely no doubt that birds are intelligent creatures. I also have no doubt that after a period of time birds realize what you are saying to them.
Other pets learn things like this too. Dogs learn voice commands as well. "Sit", "Stay", "Fetch", etc.
I think this Budgie knew some things. If you always used the phrase "Okay, it is bed time" for an example when you put his bird in his cage, eventually he learns what this phrase means.
But, to go as far as this guy claims...I am not too sure. A lot of the talk is garbled and it easy to claim he is saying something he is not. Also he could have been coached to say these things.
It still doesn't mean the bird had a great vocabulary though. But, I wouldn't read that much into it.

My budgie talks and talks alot but he sounds nothing like the birds on that website they sound like there posessed and there all against war and very religious talk about god and they all know victors name even though none of them have met him. They still play recordings of victor but on the one site I saw about him it says victor is dead. I don't believe it if they were talking what is being typed in is not what there saying. My budgie when he talks you can understand it and he has said things that I don't know where he's picked up but he most likely listens all the time to us. He sounds like a little cute robot But he so far hasn't picked up any political or religious beliefs. Also I left some negitive feedback once on the board and it was erased within a day so I don't think there being honest there.

I thought the recordings sounded like something posessed too instead of a cute feathery budgie :icon_mrgr When I heard the first recording I nearly jumped out of my seat, I thought I was listening to The Exorcist. :aiwebs_01
