Yes, my GW has been weaned for three weeks. When I brought her home she regressed for a couple of days, so I handfed her one time a day with a spoon and "spoiled" her with handing her oatmeal and sweet potato (which I still do!). She is practicing cracking hard nuts, like brazils and hazelnuts. She will work for a long time doing this. I usually have to start them for her but I assume at some point she will be able to crack them by herself. she can crack almonds and walnuts on her own now. These are her treats. I hide them in paper towels and she works them out and cracks them. she also gets a good nut and fruit mix, pellets, and fresh veggies, fruits and table food. She loves pomegranates and pasta. What are you weaning your GW onto?

We start out with formula in the morning, then her bowl is filled with mixed seed, dried fruits, peppers, pellets. For lunch she has fresh fruits, vegies, and weaning balls with warm apple juice. We all eat dinner at 5:00 so the macaws have some of whatever we are eating(chicken, beef.....) plus some fresh vegies, greens.. Dinner around here is very interesting, all of the birds are gathered around the table, and we all eat together. :aiwebs_01 7:00pm she gets her last feeding, then 8:30pm it's bedtime.
