Unhappy My budgie spooks at night. What do I do to help her?

Sweet Pea, one of my budgies screams and flaps around at night when the wind blows or when another noise is heard. I flip on the lights, and it calms her for a few minutes, but then she starts up again. As storms are pretty common here in Colorado, this happens frequently.

Any suggestions on how to help her?

If the cage is covered, I would try uncovering either all of it or part of it so she can see what is going on. If it is uncovered, maybe try covering part or all of it so she will feel safer. I have a tiel that has night frights and it worked great with covering all of the cage but leaving 1 side open and now he can be covered completely. Also, try getting a night light and putting it in the room so it won't be so dark.

I've tried both those things and she's still as twisty as ever!
Her blanket is only covering three sides, and she now has a snuggly toy that she loves to cuddle inside of for comfort. She also has her very own lightlight.
